Recently, W Hotels Worldwide joined the hospitality scene in South Beach by opening their 31st hotel property offering 408 W-branded residences.
At the W Hotel in South Beach, every design element contributed to the fully integrated contemporary lifestyle offered by the all condo hotel. Related Companies of New York executed the project on behalf of ownership and was involved in all aspects of the project, including the design. David Harrison, Project Director for Related of New York explains why the Symmons Design Studio and the custom designed plumbing fixtures by Symmons were a smart choice in the building’s design.
The Solution “We had an Italian design for the plumbing fixtures that we liked for the project and Symmons was able to execute the design with a few simple modifications which gave us exactly what we wanted. We preferred to have the product made in the US rather than overseas because we wanted reliability and durability. Symmons has the best reputation in the business, they could get us the product faster and within budget” said David Harrison, Project Director for Related Companies.
The hotel’s luxurious bathrooms feature a full suite of bath fixtures designed using the Symmons Design Studio. From lavatory faucets to bath accessories, the chrome fixtures were custom designed to compliment the black and grey bath color scheme and enhance the feeling of relaxation evoked by the design.
The Outcome Designers and project managers often fear lengthy timelines with custom design. However, Design Studio can produce a final product in as little as 16 weeks from concept approval, which was the case with the W Hotel in South Beach.
“The best thing about the Symmons Design Studio was that we were able to see samples of our design immediately through the capabilities of the Design Studio program” said Harrison. “We received actual product in two weeks.”
