Main Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop customer programs and promotions to drive revenue and profitability
  • Develop and leverage relationships with national hospitality focused distribution partners(Ferguson, HDS, Procurement companies)
  • Develop effective personal relationships with a broad base of key decision makers within the key business segments lead by hospitality and commercial housing
  • Manage Symmons products as it relates to customer offering, writing specifications and other detail set up and maintenance information
  • Manage operational relationship with key customer by providing detailed sku information as necessary, project tracking and reporting on key operational metrics
  • Able to identify and quantify market opportunities, prioritized relative to other potential opportunities and ability to implement at a national level and communicate execution plans at local region level by customer
  • Proactively discover customer’s perceived and unperceived needs and implement appropriate value-driven solutions
  • Work with cross-functional sales associates to properly communicate business opportunities on local, regional and national basis when necessary
  • Work within team structure to inform and communicate strategy of customer initiatives
  • Responsible for development of key relationships within hospitality, commercial housing and other key business segments defined by Symmons
  • Manage relationship with key industry associations like HD, NEWH and others
  • Understanding of current and future slate of Symmons products, incentives and benefits
  • High level of technical product and industry knowledge as well as industry codes and standards
  • Maintains expense budgets in an accurate, economical and timely manner
  • Work with internal and external teams to translate market and customer needs into technical product requirements

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related area required
  • 8+ years in Hospitality product/services related sales with an emphasis on the major brands and key industry associations
  • Experience with key plumbing customers preferred, similar customers required
  • High-level customer relationship building skills
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation a must
  • Knowledge of wholesale segment of bath and kitchen industry preferred
  • Excellent Planning and analysis skills
  • Strong computer skills required; proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft Outlook a must as well as experience with data warehouse sales reporting systems
  • Demonstrated selling skills required
  • Excellent high-level written and verbal communication skills required
  • 75% Travel to key accounts nationally
