Symmons Evolution Essential Package

AFFORDABLE BUILDING MANAGEMENT IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND

Braintree, Massachusetts (September 13, 2021) — Symmons®, a leading manufacturer of high-quality shower valves, faucets, control valves, and bath accessories today announced its new Essential Package for the Evolution® Building Management System. Evolution’s temperature sensors monitor building domestic hot water and HVAC in real time, while leak sensors placed in strategic areas instantly alert property staff of water issues.

While the Evolution system is fully scalable, the new Essential Package acts as a startup kit for owners and building managers of large commercial properties who realize they need a building management system but are unsure of where to start. The Essential Package is also perfect for small- to mid-size commercial or multi-residential properties that need a flexible BMS option with a low entry price point.

“Symmons Evolution is changing the way buildings across the country operate by removing all the friction points that traditional Building Automation Systems present,” said Symmons CEO Tim O’Keeffe. “With our new Essential Package, building managers have an easy, affordable way to gain the proactive and preventative system information they need, right in the palm of their hand. It’s really a game-changer.”

Anthony Cipolla, Director of Product for Evolution, highlighted how direct customer interaction has helped refine Evolution’s capabilities. “We’re increasingly amazed at the operational efficiencies and technical mechanical challenges that Evolution customers are solving when empowered with real-time data across their buildings, and we’re very fortunate to have such an engaged group of early adopters across the country.”

The Essential Package includes a network communications gateway and four non-invasive sensors, which can be any combination of temperature sensors or leak sensors. All installation tools and mounting hardware are included, and the entire package self-installs in one hour, without the need for shutting down systems or cutting pipes.

The Evolution system is easily configured by scanning the QR codes on each component with a smartphone, and it only takes a few minutes to begin retrieving real-time data. The sensors send data through a LoRa® network to the Evolution dashboard, which can be accessed from anywhere on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

Alerts are triggered when customized water, humidity, or ambient temperature thresholds are crossed or when leaks are detected, with the module pinpointing the exact time and location of the issue. Evolution sends these notifications to designated facility or maintenance team members immediately via text, email, or phone.
