Bring Spa-Like Luxury to Your Multifamily Bathroom Spaces

The demand for wellness amenities creates the need for spa-like features in multifamily bathrooms. Here are a few ideas for bringing the spa to your residents.

Multifamily residential communities seek to attract a range of residents, including working professionals and business executives who desire luxury amenities and features to suit their lifestyles. From higher-end materials to luxury features, these residential spaces are going through drastic design changes. When considering the bathroom area, tenants want spacious rooms that provide oasis-like privacy. Here are some tips to turn your multifamily bathrooms into a personal, luxury spa.

Double Shower Systems

Double shower systems create not only a luxe element but also allow more than one person to shower without the added square footage of a second bathroom to the apartment unite. Double showers come in many elegant design styles and materials. The double shower systems may be side-by-side or on opposing walls. The systems can have several different configurations such as a ceiling shower head, fixed shower head, hand shower, and body sprays. There may also be inset shelving for soaps and shampoos, and benches for residents to sit down while washing.

Roman Tubs

Combined shower and tubs are common in many multifamily buildings due to space considerations. For premium units, you may consider adding in a roman tub into the bathroom to increase the spa-like luxury factor. A roman tub is a deep tub that typically doesn’t have showers, jets, or whirlpool capabilities. These tubs are designed to be long and deep to accommodate full-size adults who are looking to just looking to soak away aches and pains in peaceful solitude. If you are looking for a tub that isn’t so deep, you may consider adding in a garden tub.

Another feature of roman tubs are the filler systems. Faucets and spouts are not attached to the walls of the tub. Instead, they may rise off the deck or be placed into the bathroom wall as the spout arches out to fill the tub. To accommodate people who want to wash off the shampoo or conditioner from their hair, you can include a hand shower with the tub filler.

Symmons Roman tub filler faucets, like the Carrington® two-handle roman tub faucet with hand spray, are available in a variety of styles and finishes to match the decor of your property.

Rain Shower Walk-Ins

Having water wash over your entire body can feel so relaxing as you wash the stress and anxiety away. When designing relaxing shower features into multifamily bathroom spaces, a rain shower system can transform any bathroom into a spa day.  Rain showers for walk-in installations have a large showerhead that can range in size from 6 inches to 10 inches or more. They may be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall at a higher level than standard fixed showerheads so that the water can surround the entire body. Keep in mind also that rain showerheads can come in many shapes, such as square or round designs.

If you want to be certain that your tenants will have a positive experience, you and your staff can try out a few showerheads for personal use to determine whether the flow and pressure are up to your specifications. You may be surprised to learn that you can have a relaxing shower with high water pressure that is still low-flow and water-efficient.
